kind of unhappy with how angular this shoe turned out. maybe the entire thing needed to be stuffed?

I've been taking an animation break to complete some practical effects shots for a long-running project of mine. my fingers are covered in hot glue gun burns.

Do you use Papagayo for lip syncing to .DAT file? Wellllll guesssss what! I paid a programmer to update it with voice recognition capabilities. It's currently Windows / English only and only supports mono 16bit WAV files (and there are probably some bugs), but it's free and open source, so, what do you expect! Give it a try!

this is the third time i've tried to learn toon boom harmony and holy cow, it's finally starting to make sense to me! the drawing engine is such a breath of fresh air after struggling through all the bizarre points and curves that moho throws at you. i still need to spend more time learning about deformers, constraints, master controllers, and the masking process, but overall, this software makes animation feel much more accessible!

anyhow, here's my progress after a few days of playing around:

13gb worth of project files = 1:22 cartoon

personally, i don't enjoy the process of storyboarding. to encourage myself to do it more, though, i decided to get my own storyboard book printed!

i wanted to test out animate's new auto-lip sync and after effects integration, so, i threw this together really quickly. overall, not too impressed with the lip sync accuracy.
